Espresso Machine The De’Longhi ECP3420 15″ Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino machine works very well. I have been making lattes for several years with various machines. I started with a very cheap machine that made passable lattes and then got a De’Longhi EC702 and now the ECP 3420. All three would not be termed expensive or high end espresso machines.This new machine, the ECP3420, is about 3/4 of the cost of my earlier machine and is much easier to use. There are less settings so that slight changes in the strength and flavor are not easily made, but the ease of making a latte makes up for it. The flavor quality is about the same. My favorite vanilla lattes come from a regional coffee place (Caribou Coffee) and I find that the De’Longhi approaches their quality, but does not quite get there. Disposable Machine I first purchased in September of 2016 for $159.00. I was very pleased for about 8 months. I really loved that it would make creamy, frothy almond milk (with some almond coffee creamer added) After about 8 months the shots started coming slower and slower. I upgraded my coffee grinder, cleaned the machine and hoped for the best, but to no avail. After about 10 months, the power available to steam milk was much less than when new. I started warming up the machine for 15-20 minutes before I started, which worked well for about 2 months. Eventually, it just stopped. When shopping for a new machine, I read the reviews for this model again. They were so positive that I became convinced that I had simply purchased a lemon and itâs performance was not indicative of every machine in this model so I bought it again in October of 2017. What a mistake!! It is February 26, 2018 and here I am again. The new machine of the same model lasted only four months! All the same problems…
