Hands down *THE* best coffee maker on the market right now! I own quite a few high-end coffee makers (many would say an unhealthy number!), including the Bonavita BV1800, BV1900TS, Technivorm, and Kitchenaid Pour-over Brewer. All of these brewers are SCAA-certified, and all brew excellent coffee. Each has its own quirks as well… The Bonavitas tend to have short lifespans (2-3 years) and are a bit too minimalist, the Technivorm has a lousy showerhead design that requires you to stir the grounds while it is brewing for optimal flavor, and the Kitchenaid tends to brew a slightly weak cup of coffee.All of these issues prompted me to continue my search for the holy grail of coffee makers, and I believe I finally found it. Converted this French presser I want to start this review by stating that I havenât used a drip coffee maker in years. I am what people describe as a âcoffee snob.â I grew up drinking the traditional Mr. Coffee-style drip brew that my parents were happy with and wasnât happy with the plastic taste and lack of flavor that came with each cup, even though they always bought the âreally niceâ models. A close to pour over as I’ve come from a machine! I tried a few other high-end coffeemakers (a Bonavita, the Behmor Connected and Oxo Barista Brain) before settling on the Cuisinart. It wasn’t even on my radar at first, but after being disappointed by the other machines, I decided to give it a try. The Bonavita machines get good reviews, but my version from Bed Bath & Beyond seemed to have an issue where it didn’t saturate the grounds evenly. The Behmor was cool and I loved the app control, but the minimum six-cup requirement was more than we needed for this one-coffee-drinker household. The Oxo had a lot of potential and looked cool with great features, but the coffee was just okay and I especially didn’t like the thermal carafe option.
