As I had hoped The only reason this is a four star coffee maker is because of the price. It’s built cheap with no quality control as evidenced by all the premature breakdowns, but this is my second and it was still working when I retired it although it did have a rusted warming plate. The heating element is cheap iron and the paint even cheaper. It did slow down over the years even with periodic vinegar cleaning but the coffee was pretty much the same from the first cup to the last. The only reason I changed is because I wanted a maker with a mechanical switch instead of an electronic one so I could plug it into a smart outlet and control it with voice or programmed timer. That is the only difference from old to new. It still has the two holes in the back of the water tank so if you over fill it clean water will drip down the back onto your counter instead of coffee over flowing the carafe onto your electrical warmer plate. The drip arm still swings out of the way and automatically swings back when…
